*Behind-the-Scenes* Library Crawl

Wednesday, October 2

12–1 p.m.

How do library books get on the shelf?

What happens when you submit an interlibrary loan request?

How can you access hundreds of databases from anywhere in the world?

It seems like magic, but it's people power...plus technology!

Come on a quick behind-the-scenes crawl through the staff areas of the Library with our Access Services and Collections Management teams. You'll get a hands-on look at all the hard work that makes a library run, with tasty bites along the way!

Open to staff, faculty, and students. No RSVP necessary--drop by anytime during the noon hour. (If you enjoyed last year's library crawl, come on back for this new, behind-the-scenes edition!)

What’s up, Gaels? Who’s ready for summer? We know we are!!!

At the library we are peeling out into summer with a twist on our Summer Reading Road Trip. This year's summer reading challenge will take a metaphorical road trip to visit all of our fellow Lasallian universities.

Each page you read* this summer counts towards a mile on your cross-country journey from Saint Mary's College of California to Manhattan College, and Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota, Lewis University, Christian Brothers University, and La Salle University in between. (*Audiobooks and e-books count, too!)

Some book topics will speed up your trip with "mileage" multipliers to help you reach the ultimate goal: 3,979 pages! You don't have to be a speed reader to participate. Collect entries to a grand prize raffle along the way by reaching several milestones along the journey. Start making your reading list now using NoveList Plus, which helps readers of all ages match books, fiction and nonfiction, perfectly to their preferences. Search or browse by moods, themes, genres and Lexile reading levels.

The challenge runs from May 27 to September 4.Open to students, staff, faculty, and alumni (if you can pick up your prize on campus). All participants are entered into our raffle for our final prizes, including a grand prize from all 5 Lasallian schools.
