Campus Policy Responses
SMC Library Policy: Response to court orders, subpoenas, or search warrants - Without a valid court order, subpoena, or search warrant, no third party, including the FBI, local law enforcement, or government agencies, can compel responses or gain access to College records or information other than the name and business address of the person speaking to the agent or officer.
Promoting a Safe and Secure Campus for All. - is a guidance document provided by California to help colleges and universities navigate immigration-related issues. It offers model policies and best practices to ensure that campuses remain inclusive, safe, and compliant with state and federal laws. The guidance focuses on protecting the rights of undocumented students, limiting cooperation with immigration enforcement, and fostering an environment where all students can pursue their education without fear.
SMC FERPA Policy - The Saint Mary's College FERPA policy outlines students' rights under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), including access to their education records, the ability to request record corrections, and control over the disclosure of personal information.
