Parts of a Scholar Profile in Digital Commons

What is included in the new Scholar Profiles

Scholarly Profiles have two components "About" and "Works". The About page displays features professional information like email, phone, department etc. The Works page displays scholarly publications.

"About" Component EXAMPLE

  • A headshot, biography, and contact information
  • Educational background
  • Research interest and disciplines
  • Grants you have received
  • Courses you have taught
  • Honors and awards
  • Professional services and affiliations
  • Past employment positions
  • Web addresses of other pages containing a list of your work
  • Lists of disciplines, research interests, honors and awards, courses taught, and affiliations.
  • Links to 3rd-party sites, such as Linkedin, ResearchGate and Google Scholar.
  • ORCID IDs and other persistent identifiers.
  • Social media such as Twitter, Facebook, Linkedin, etc.

"Works" Component EXAMPLE

  • Publications preprints (drafts of articles that have not yet been peer reviewed for formal publication)
  • Publications post-prints (drafts of articles after they have been peer reviewed)
  • Presentations
  • Grants, Honors and Awards
  • Book and Book Contributions
  • Media (Videos, podcasts etc.)
  • Lectures
  • Speeches
