Starting your research

Depending on your topic idea, you'll want to find background information, perhaps from a book or from an essay from an encyclopedia.  Once you have your topic idea in place, you will need to find further detailed information to flesh out your paper using books and articles.

Explore Journals in History

When getting started, it can be useful to review the titles of the many scholarly journals in the field of history and see what scholars are wrting about. When browsing journal and article titles, scan for concepts you may want to build into your own topic.
