Finding Tests and Measures-PsycTests

PsycTests is a database that lists tests and measures included in journal articles. So when your professor wants you to base a measure that you are creating for your study or experiment on an existing measure, this is definitely the place to start.

PsycTests Search Tips

  • Keep your searches pretty broad to begin with - anxiety, memory, etc.
  • Then use the filters (available on the search page and under  "more" on the results page) to narrow down your results.
  • Not all of the results that you retrieve will have the full text of the measure. Look for the ones that have the Test button. For more description of the test including information on validity and reliability, click on the title of the test.

Finding Test Reviews

You may be asked to find reviews of published tests. Your best source for this is Mental Measurements Yearbook. Search by the title of the test and find in-depth review of these tests. The tests themselves are generally not available without purchasing the test.
