This guide focuses on Assignment I (Developing a Research Idea) of your semester-long research project.
As part of this assignment you and your group need to find 6-8 journal articles related to your research idea.
- All articles should be primary source articles.
- Each article should examine one or more of the variables you have identified.
- You will need to find the full text for each article, so it either has to be available through the SMC Library or obtainable through Interlibrary Loan.
- These articles, along with additional articles you may find over the course of the semester, will form part of your Introduction (Assignment 4)
- The articles should inform your experiment, so read them as you go. Depending on what the journal literature says, you may make adjustments to your research idea and hypothesis.
