Key Dates:
For example, you might want to vote where your family lives, if you also live there when you're not at college. Each city, county, and state will have its own candidates and measures to vote on, so consider whether you want to vote on Moraga/Contra Costa/California issues, or the issues wherever you're from.
Then register to vote:Deadline for online voter registration: October 21, 2024
You can register to vote on Election Day, in-person, with a conditional ballot:
Check your voter registration status:
All registered California voters will be sent a "vote by mail" ballot to their voter mailing address.
If your ballot gets sent to your home address and you won’t be able to go home to get it before Election Day, you can get a replacement mailed to you by sending in this form or by registering to vote again and providing a one-time mailing address.
If you vote in California and have a mail-in ballot: Drop it in any mailbox (the SMC post office has one next to the Bookstore) or voting dropbox
If you vote in Contra Costa County and don’t have a mail-in ballot, check the county website for updated early voting locations and time.
If you vote in California and have a mail-in ballot: The closest ballot dropbox is just down St. Mary’s Road at the Moraga Library. You can return your ballot there until 8 pm. Or drop it in a mailbox before last pickup (the SMC post office is next to the Bookstore).
If you vote in California and don’t have a mail-in ballot: Look up your polling place
If you have a mail-in ballot for outside California: Drop it in a mailbox before last pickup (the SMC post office is next to the Bookstore).
