  4. Make an appointment
    • Make an appointment online or email kfw3@stmarys-ca.edu
    • Due to COVID restrictions no more than two students are allowed in the Reading Room at the same time
    • Do not bring any food, beverages, or pens, laptops and cell phones are okay (and encouraged)
  5. Arrive on time for your appointment and a general idea of what you are wanting
    • Use the time before your appointment to work with the College Archivist and identify materials
    • Plan to spend approximately one hour in the archives
  6. Practice safe handling of materials
    • Only one box/folder can be out at once
    • Keep all papers and photographs in their original order
    • If two pages are stuck together or badly torn, notify the College Archivist immediately
  7. Flag material that you want digitized
    • Taking pictures with your cell phone is okay
    • Request digital images at least one week prior to your due date
  8. After you are finished, return materials to their boxes and/or folders
    • If needed, request an additional appointment
