Staff Resources

Staff may borrow up to 100 items with 3 automatic renewals.

The loan period for most books is 28 days. Audio/visual materials check-out for 7 days.

Staff have remote access to all electronic databases.

Spouses, partners, and children (ages 16 and up) of current SMC employees may register to receive a library card.

Family members have the same access except:

• 2 automatic renewals for most items.
• No remote access to electronic databases. Instead, databases are accessible using a library guest computer on campus.

Staff members may request physical or electronic resources that the SMC Library does not have in its collection.

• Articles and book chapters will typically be emailed within 24 hours.
• Full books and videos cannot be digitized. Delivery to campus can take up to two weeks.

The following are available to borrow for a short-term loan from the Service Desk:

• Portable phone chargers
• Universal laptop chargers
• Noise-canceling headphones
• Mac laptops

Print from any computer in the library, or on your personal device using GaelPrint.

Simple-to-use scanners and copiers are located on the first and third floors.

The Library has exhibit and display space available to reserve for curriculum or co-curriculum activities at Saint Mary's College. Partner with us by proposing a display! Please refer to the following before reserving a space: Policies and Procedures for Exhibits, Wall Art, and Events.

An SMC community bulletin board is available to post flyers on the 2nd floor. Refer to our Guidelines for Posting Notices and Banners.
