This guide leads you through research strategies for your nonprofit white paper.

Citation Managers

Citation managers let you bookmark sources from library databases and the web, share them with your research team, and cite them in your preferred style automatically. One of my favorites is Zotero. You'll need:

  1. The desktop app. This lets you organize and take notes on your sources.
  2. The connector for Chrome or Firefox (unfortunately there isn't a good one for Safari). This lets you save sources from anywhere.
  3. The plugin for Word or Google Docs. This lets you add in-text and works cited citations for all your sources to your report.
  4. To create a group.

MLA Style

MLA Style is the preferred style for most English assignments at Saint Mary's.
