Student Resources

All people in the United States, regardless of immigration status, have certain rights and protections under the U.S. Constitution. The ILRC’s Red Cards help people assert their rights and defend themselves in many situations, such as when ICE agents go to a home.

 What to do if I.C.E. comes to campus - UC Berkeley's The American Culture pages resources. The ongoing national conversation about immigration status lies across a bipartisan political landscape. Still, statements made by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Acting Director Thomas Homan indicate that enforcement will be significantly increased and specifically target California.

American Library Association Know your rights--Not theirs How libraries prepare for possible ICE activity. US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrests rose 11% in fiscal year 2018 over the previous years, and the agency has detained or arrested undocumented immigrants in homes, parking lots, courthouses, places of work, and even hospitals. But no raids have been reported to date in libraries.

Presidents' Alliance on Higher Education and Immigration: An initiative that integrates data, policies, resources, and effective practices about DACA and undocumented, other immigrant, international, and refugee students to fuel change at the federal, state, and campus levels and build a diverse movement of partners.
