Escape the tyranny of the search box!

Google has trained us to type words into a search box. But before you spend all night scrolling through pages of results, consider using these too:

use sources referenced in the texts from your class
browse through the books on the first tab of this guide
use Wikipedia or other reference sources to guide you to foundational sources in DH

And once you are ready to use a search box...

Library Search is a handy first place to search for an interdisciplinary topic like digital humanities. It searches hundreds of library databases all at once, to show you relevant books, articles, and more.

Google Scholar is another helpful source for finding relevant scholarly articles, books, and dissertations:

Use SMC's special Google Scholar link when off-campus to see additional full text available through the library. No full text? Copy/paste the title/author into Library Search and use interlibrary loan if necessary.
