This spring, Dr. David Quijada, Associate Professor, Ethnic Studies, will chat about "Mestizo Arts and Activism: Participatory Action Research and Artistic Praxis as a Politics of Care and Solidarity"
This faculty chat draws upon arts-based participatory action research projects conducted by the Mestizo Arts & Activism Collective (MAA), an intergenerational social justice think tank led by the urgent concerns of young people of color. The discussion will engage the arts as integral to participatory action research—an epistemological move that opens up new ways of understanding and knowing our world, caring for one another and representing ourselves as we forge solidarities toward social justice.
